NDEPENDENT BUSINESS IN REDONDO BEACH RECENTLY CELEBRATED AT RIBBON CUTTING AND AWARD CEREMONY
Redondo Beach, California (October 27, 2013) —- Friends, clients and supporters recently gathered to celebrate the 2013 Small Indie Business Grant Award ceremony and Certified Locally Owned ribbon cutting held at the new offices of Kate Lester Interiors located in Redondo Beach.
The full-service interior design firm received a $250 grant award from ShopLocal.us to be applied toward growing and maintaining its business. Kate Lester Interiors is also one of the most recent Redondo Beach-based businesses to earn the Certified Locally Owned designation.
Started five years ago by owner and principal designer, Kate Lester, the design firm has grown to serve a variety of clients throughout Southern California specializing in custom homes and the design/build process.
Founder of ShopLocal.us, Heidi Butzine presented the grant award and acknowledged some of Lester’s business achievements: “Kate started her business from a spare room in her home with only a few hundred dollars. Five years later, she has built up a respected design firm and is a highly visible business leader, volunteering her time and services to local charities including Walk With Sally, A Chance for Children and is actively involved in the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce and USC’s Marshall Women’s Leadership Board. Kate is a great inspiration to business owners and entrepreneurs for starting a business with very little and growing it into a success.”
Inspired by the impact that independent businesses have on the local economy and their local communities, the Small Indie Business Grant program was formed by ShopLocal.us to recognize and help small business owners in the South Bay of Los Angeles grow or maintain their business.
